Parallel Creative Universe

Dreamers Welcome (@DreamersWelcomeForever) is a private residence that is treated as a community space. It serves artists in the form of micro-residencies (where dreamers stay at the space and collaborate with Sarah, Julian, Margot and Ramon in small and large scale ways). It serves the community in the form of a community space, where artists can host screenings, lectures, and other events.

Below are some visitors, collaborations, and events that have taken place at Dreamers Welcome.


Alejandro Aguilera

Atlanta-based artist Alejandro Aguilera visited Dreamers Welcome to talk about art, theory, and practice. While visiting, he collaborated on a drawing and stop motion.

Link-Link Supper Club Lecture Series

Since 2014, Dreamers Welcome has hosted Link-Link Club’s lecture series 9 times per year. Lecturers are invited by Link-Link Club to talk for 20 minutes about something that is not their main area of focus. Two lecturers invite 10 guests each. Following the lectures, everyone enjoys pizza together. Read more about the project here.

DREAMING OF GEORGIA RAFFLE

Sarah and Julian spearheaded a raffle for The New Georgia Project, a non-partisan voters rights group in Georgia. 50 artists and businesses donated items. The reading of the winners was conducted at Dreamers Welcome and live-streamed via Dreamers Welcome Forever instagram.


Bozo Blasters

Artist/musician Javier Morales visited Dreamers Welcome in January of 2019. He and Julian conducted a video experiment in treating video feedback as a 3-dimensional object. They called the results Bozo Blasters.

Gary Upay’aq Beaver

Gary Upay’aq Beaver, Alaskan musician and dancer, stayed at Dreamers Welcome and collaborated with Sarah and Julian. His visit coincided with a visit from Javier Morales. The four of them worked together to create two original songs.

Video Method Lab

Dreamers Welcome served as the practice studio and research facility for Video Method Lab. VML is an experimental video installation group founded by Julian Bozeman, John Michael Boling, John Crowe, and Paul Slocum. VML combines old and new video technologies for unique and stunning effects.

Paradise II - Dream Driver

Paradise II recorded their album Dream Driver at Dreamers Welcome.

Intuition Intermission Women’s Dinner

Sarah Conarro hosted an Intermission Women’s Dinner at Dreamers Welcome. Intermission: is a four-course dinner evening event for femme-identifying individuals to connect with strangers and deepen connections with friends and acquaintances. Read more about the project here.

CULTURESPORT

CULTURESPORT held an intimate screening of their first episode, ROTTERDAM 95, at Dreamers Welcome in October of 2016.
