Why are we doing this?

As Georgians ourselves, we want to support the efforts of those on the ground working on this incredibly important Senate election runoff for our nation and our future!

During a conversation with our friend Bee Nguygen (Georgia state representative from Atlanta, GA, who filled Stacy Abram's vacated seat) she gave us a list of potential nonprofits in need of funding. After careful consideration, we decided to assist The New Georgia Project and their work with the upcoming Senate election Jan 5th. 

Wanting to make as large an impact as possible, we've decided to invite all of our artist, artisan, and creative friends/colleagues to join us in a raffle to raise money for The New Georgia Project. We hope you'll consider donating an item whose sale will raise money to support a more inclusive vote in Georgia for the upcoming Senate runoff.

Why The New Georgia Project? 

We personally know a lot of people who vote Democrat and a lot of people who vote Republican in the state of Georgia. The New Georgia Project helps locate and register potential voters who have never participated in an election before. The New Georgia Projects’ words, " Georgia’s population is growing and becoming increasingly diverse. Over the past decade, the population of Georgia increased 18%. The New American Majority – people of color, those 18 to 29 years of age, and unmarried women – is a significant part of that growth. The New American Majority makes up 62% of the voting age population in Georgia, but they are only 53% of registered voters." 

We chose The New Georgia Project because voter access is good for democracy, no matter your party line! 

When?

We’re adding items all week! The sooner fill out the form linked above to donate an item, the better. The raffle launches on Black Friday Nov 27th in our hopes to give a cool alternative to holiday shopping. We are hyping up interest in buying raffle tickets and the announcement of special edition items beginning this Sunday Nov 22nd.

What can you do? 

1. Consider donating an item for this amazing and necessary work at such an incredibly important time!

Example items:: cool stuff by visual artists / artisans / musicians / writers / culinary artists / etc --> casting this net wide!

3. Share the raffle itself for people you think will want to buy raffle tickets and/or purchase special edition items !

**Shipping info:: *When considering the item you wish to donate, please note that you will be responsible for dropping the item in the mail to the winner during the week of Dec 7th-11th. We will provide you with the shipping address. You have the choice to pay for shipping as part of your generous donation OR have shipping costs paid for by the winner. Please state your preference in the donation form.

If you decide to pay for shipping, please note that we are only offering domestic. Any international shipping will be covered by the purchaser.
